WELCOME

Welcome to my Blogg, hope you enjoy catching up with what I do with my dogs.

Look at the picture of snowy footprints - they are actually rabbits!! There must have been thousands of them around overnight!! You can see the footprints belonging to Peter going across the garden, but all others are rabbits. It is GREAT living in the countryside!!

Last day of 2009

30th December
Had my sister and husband for lunch and exchange of Chrissie pressies, a good time had by all.
31st December
Well the New Year is nearly here, but I will not see it - we rarely stay up for it - getting old perhaps - or just not to happy to see ANOTHER year disappear they go much too quickly in my opinion LOL
I decided to take a look at the Sales today, before the higher rate of VAT comes in - so visited my favourite shop (well my ONLY shop really!) Long Tall Sally, who had a super sale on, and as I had £130 in Gift Vouchers I had a wonderful time! Came home with three pairs of trousers, one long sleeved top and a super black jumper. Two more tops to follow as they had to be ordered from other stores -really enjoyable! AND it hardly cost me anything !!
Bathed Kari for Coventry Show tomorrow, she is looking quite nice now. We are going with Anna and Enya as well, so hope that the weather continues to be mild as I do not want to drive in snow.
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2010 TO ANYONE WHO READS THIS.

See you in 2010!!

29th December 2009

Oh dear, our trip to devon was fine and we enjoyed Christmas with our son and his family, ten of us, so a nice day.
EXCEPT that in the evening I got a phone call to say that my dear friend Pauline, the lady I have been visiting daily (almost) for over 6 months and providing food for, died suddenly on Christmas Day. I could not believe it. She was OK when I saw her the day before we left for Devon, but a bit weak and tired, we believe it was her heart that gave out, we will hear this week hopefully. It did put a damper on the proceedings for me and not a lot of sleep that night.

Boxing Day we did stay although I first felt like returning home, we stayed and had a good time. Returned on Sunday 27th, snow all gone.

28th December - saw Pauline's Daughter and only just managed to be civil to her, knowing that she was very unkind to her Mother I find it hard to reconcile with all the weeping and wailing - tongue nearly bitten through!!

29th - Today. Took Enya and Dylan to Luton Canine Show, and Enya won the Junior class of 10 dogs and was awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Dylan second in Open to the BOB, then Dylan 2nd in the Any Variety Gundog Open and although Enya was not placed in the Puppy Group, she went on to WIN the Puppy stakes and I got £10 to help with the costs of entry!! Not a bad day all in all.
Very cold tonight, no snow but a lot of sleet brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

23rd December 2009

This will be the last post until at least after Christmas as we go to our son's tomorrow in Devon, we hear that there is no snow there, so that will be a relief!

The Match night was good, not many people and dogs got there due to the weather, but Enya got Best Puppy in Match (again! and her last one - BIG girl in January!) and Kari was Reserve Best in Match. Nell did not arrive they got 10 minutes from their home - and this took an hour - and the traffic was gridlocked, so they had to turn back - what a shame.

The snow is still laying here, and it is a bit lethal as there is so much sheet ice. Went out to dinner with Ken (our son) last night for his birthday and the journey was 'interesting' to say the least, nearly got bashed by a car on a roundabout when it came round too fast and he lost it on the corner, we just sat and watched it slide towards us and hoped it would stop in time - it did - JUST! Lovely Chinese meal - yummy!!

We wish anyone reading this a
*****VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2010 *****

21st December 2009

I need to catch up with what has been happening. LOADS of snow, we had a power cut for 12 hours, but some were even worse and have been off for some 3 days - not good. Luckily we have a caravan and were able to use the gas in that for making drinks and cooking, also have a Super Ser gas fire which kept the house warm. The dogs could not care less of course, they loved the snow and still do playing in it every day.

Yesterday I took Kari and Enya to Colchester Open Show and had a good day, Enya won the junior Class and was Best Puppy and Kari won the Open class and was Best of Breed - nice one! No luck later in the BIS as the judge was into small dogs and did not seem to like anything bigger than a cocker spaniel!! Such is dog showing LOL

The snow is still laying, there does not seem to be any thaw at all, it is freezing all the time, we are not used to this! Usually snow disappears after a day or so, but not this time I think it will be around for some time.

Just hope that it is a bit better on Thursday when we drive to Devon to our son Geoff, we are staying over Christmas and return home on Sunday 27th December.

Tonight I have the Christmas Match night in Writle, Chelmsford, with Enya and Kari, they have fancy dress, but I have not had time to make anyting for them, so we will just watch the others. Enya's sister, Nell is coming (weather permitting) so that will be nice.

TO BEGIN

Hi I have just set up this Blog and I am completely new to this 'game' so you will have to bear with me until I get used to it LOL

To say a little about myself to begin with, I have been in Welsh Springer Spaniels since 1983 when I bought my first Welshie from Ken Spate, Delkens Perdita. I bred my first litter from another bitch that I bought, Delkens Teah, in 1985 and was lucky enough to make up the male that I kept from this litter into Ch Julita Jaunty Reveller, he gained his Show title and also his qualifier to become one of the very few Full Champions in the breed at that time. I have since bred two further Full Champions in Ch Julita Ryvanda and Ch Julita Regal Request.

I now own just two Welshies, although I did have seven at one time! These are Julita Rustic Ramble (Ramble) and Julita Raskari (Kari) my only dog for breeding that I now own. I do have her daughter Julita Renya (Enya) in partnership with Anna Popkin and I show her regularly along with her Mother, Kari. I am also lucky enough to have a wonderful friend who owns Kari's brother Julita Ranger, who has one Reserve CC and has two Open Show Best in Show awards to date, one a General Open Show and one just last weekend at the North of England WSSC Open Show - Judge Christ Campbell - a particularly wonderful day for me and for his owner, Angie Davis. The photo above is of Julita Ranger aka Dylan.

Last Sunday my Club - the South Eastern Welsh Springer Spaniel Club - held its Annual General Meeting. (I am the Hon: Secretary of this Club). Following the AGM we held a Match and our Julita Renya won Best Puppy in Match and Reserve Best In Match - so a really lovely weekend.

This weekend we go to the last Chamopionship Show of the year - the Ladies Kennel Association - at Birmingham, with three dogs, Kari, Enya and Dylan.
